All of Life is Yoga

The greatest lesson yoga has given me is not just how to move on the mat, but how to move through life—with presence, patience, and purpose as a mother, wife, teacher, student, and woman in this world.

My journey with Yoga and Ayurveda began in the most unexpected ways—a college professor teaching the art of standing with purpose, a morning TV program that had me pushing the coffee table to the side, and a deep curiosity that led me from fitness training to marathon running to a small yoga space called Breathing Space Yoga Studio. That studio sparked something in me, eventually leading me to India, where I immersed myself in the teachings of Sivananda Yoga and was introduced to Ayurveda. But it wasn’t until years later—after a cancer diagnosis just months after becoming a mother—that these practices became the foundation of my healing, my resilience, and my way of life.

Yoga and Ayurveda have been my anchors, not only in my personal journey but also in motherhood. They have taught me a whole new level of compassion and empathy, the art of truly listening—not just to others but to my own inner wisdom. I’ve learned to hold space for both stillness and chaos, to teach healthy boundaries while embodying patience and self-control, and to navigate the beautiful, messy balance of nurturing others while also caring for myself.

My practice is not just about movement; it’s about coming home to yourself. Whether I’m on my mat, walking in the woods, or in the midst of a busy day with my family, I return to my breath, my center, and the lessons these ancient traditions have given me. It’s this lived experience that shapes how I teach—offering not just postures, but tools for life.

In my classes, workshops, and retreats, I create space for others to pause, breathe, and reconnect. I weave in philosophy, Ayurveda, mantra, and humour—because life is serious enough, and sometimes, a good laugh is the best medicine. My hope is that my students walk away not only feeling replenished and strong but with a deeper awareness of their own power—the power to heal, to grow, and to live with intention.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me creating—painting, crocheting, baking—or belting out a mantra (or an 80s classic). I train in Taekwondo, unleash my hamster for his nightly run in his “little red corvette”, and cherish quiet moments with my family. I’m on a mission to inspire others to make Yoga and Ayurveda a way of life—not as something extra to do, but as a path to living fully, with health, joy, and presence.

I truly look forward to inspiring and helping you live your best life.

See you on the mat soon,
